About Dr. Wright

Dr. Stacy Wright is a licensed clinical psychologist, founder of Faithful Counsel, author, and host of the biweekly Think Right podcast. Her work is rooted in the conviction that meaningful and lasting transformation requires more than simply managing symptoms—it requires learning to recognize what is true, renew the mind, and live faithfully in light of God’s Word.

Dr. Wright earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University and completed both her Master of Arts and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She also holds a Certificate in Biblical Counseling from the Biblical Counseling Center (BCC). After beginning her career within traditional psychotherapy, her own experiences, deepening faith, and study of Scripture increasingly shaped how she understood the human heart, emotional suffering, and the process of change.

Today, her counseling approach brings years of clinical experience under a distinctly biblical framework. She believes Scripture provides the ultimate authority for understanding the heart, mind, emotions, behavior, suffering, redemption, and hope. Clinical knowledge and practical counseling tools may be valuable, but they are thoughtfully evaluated through that biblical worldview rather than placed on equal footing with God’s Word.

That same commitment extends beyond the counseling room. Dr. Wright is the author of Emotional Check Engine Lights and its companion Check Engine Light Journal. Using the metaphor of a vehicle’s warning light, these resources encourage readers to view difficult emotions as signals worth examining rather than simply symptoms to suppress. The book introduces a framework for identifying the beliefs underlying emotional responses, evaluating those beliefs in light of Scripture, and renewing the mind with truth. The companion journal provides a practical way to put those principles into practice through reflection, taking thoughts captive, and intentionally applying biblical truth to everyday life.

Dr. Wright also hosts Think Right, a biweekly podcast exploring the intersection of psychology and Scripture. Each episode examines modern psychological theories and cultural assumptions through the lens of biblical truth. Through thoughtful, direct conversation, she invites listeners to consider not only what they believe about themselves, their emotions, relationships, and struggles, but whether those beliefs are actually true. The goal is not simply to think more positively, but to think rightly—developing a mind increasingly shaped by Scripture and pursuing the kind of healing and transformation that flows from truth.

As founder of Faithful Counsel, Dr. Wright has also become intentional about building a team of Christian counselors who share a commitment to biblical faithfulness, professional integrity, compassionate care, and clinical excellence. Her vision is for Faithful Counsel to be a place where people can bring genuine emotional, relational, and spiritual struggles without being asked to separate their mental health from their faith.

Across counseling, writing, teaching, and Think Right, the thread running through Dr. Wright’s work remains the same: helping people examine what they believe, anchor themselves in what is true, and pursue lasting change through the renewing of the mind.
